Here are a few things I would like to see in Pacific Rim 2.
For anyone with knowledge of the expanded universe, which includes a prequel comic and information released by Travis Beacham on his Tumblr blog, there is no dearth of female characters in the world. From a pair of badass Korean fencers-turned-Jaeger pilots to Gottlieb’s wife to Stacker Pentacost’s sister and her best friend (and Stacker’s former co-pilot), not to mention the scientist who created Drift technology, the ladies of the Pacific Rim universe are many and awesome. And I would like to see more of them on the big screen, fighting (or not) alongside Raleigh, Mako, Newt, and the rest of the crew.

More Diversity in General
In the Pacific Rim universe, cities and towns all along the western coast of South and Central America were affected. Cities and towns all along the coast of East Asia were affected. Why were there no Chilean, Vietnamese, Mexican, or Indonesian characters? At the very least, why weren’t more of them Chinese, since that’s where the movie is set? Hopefully Pacific Rim 2 will better represent more of the people bordering the Pacific Ocean, and maybe even the world over.
A World Rebuilding
And on a more personal note, how are the individual characters rebuilding their lives? After experiencing so much loss, how are Mako, Raleigh, and Herc finding ways to survive and thrive in a post-Kaiju world? These are the kinds of questions I want answers to, Messrs. Beacham and del Toro!
Jaeger vs. Jaeger Fighting
The possibilities are pretty endless.
