The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality test based on the work of Carl Jung, who proposed that there are four ways by which we experience the world: sensation, intuition, feeling, and thinking. An individual’s tendency toward one of two options within each of these four categories separates you into one of sixteen types, each with a unique and in-depth personality profile. In this way, the MBTI illustrates in detail the specific ways in which people experience and interact with the world and those around them.
Versions of the MBTI chart featuring fictional characters, including those from the Harry Potter and Star Wars series, have recently gone viral. These are fun not only as a new way to think about the characters you know and love, but also to see which is most like you.
Your ‘type’ is unlikely to change throughout your life regardless of changes in life conditions, even those as drastic as learning to survive in a post apocalyptic world, and so I was interested to see how the characters of The Walking Dead would fit within the sixteen types. Surprisingly, I was unable to find a single chart featuring the beloved blood-soaked heroes and heroines of The Walking Dead! This is a shame, considering that watching how the various personalities interact is what makes the series so great. Therefore, I decided to dust off my psychology degree and get to work!
The result is the chart below (click the image to enlarge). I sorted 15 Walking Dead Characters under their MBTI personality type (or as close as I could get given I couldn't administer the test to fictional characters), plus one surprise guest! And for those who don’t know their types, you can take the MBTI HERE to see who you are most like as well as read more in-depth descriptions of each type.
Note: This MBTI Chart was created for fun and is not affiliated with the official Walking Dead team. Types are subjective.
