Check out the trailer below, and keep reading for the top five things we took away.
1. A darker tone
- Bruce Banner appears looking sickly and beaten, more so than our other heroes. Considering he’s essentially invincible, that’s really got us wondering what could be wrong.
- There’s a moment where Thor grabs Tony Stark by the neck. Now these two briefly fought in the first movie, but Thor using his massive strength on Stark outside of the armor implies something really messed up is going down.
- Stark proclaiming, “It’s the end of the path I started us on. ” What’s interesting here is that Stark didn’t form the Avengers, so he can’t be talking about that right? What is he talking about? Or is his ego big enough that he just decides he, not Fury, started The Avengers?
- Captain America’s shield, along with perhaps the man himself, lies broken on ground. Now I have a theory this could actually be part of a dream sequence or something, but that’s still some dark stuff for someone to be dreaming about. And if it’s not a dream sequence? Hoo boy.
All in all, this looks to be more of an emotionally challenging film than the first Avengers.
